Private yoga for beginners — no experience required
If group classes feel intimidating, confusing, or too fast, private yoga gives you room to learn at your pace — in your home, with one-on-one attention.
Natalie meets you wherever you're starting from — whether you've never tried yoga, tried a class and felt lost, or simply want the privacy of learning the basics at home without performance pressure.
Sessions are personalized, calm, and designed for people just beginning — not studio athletes.
Who this is for
You've thought about trying yoga for months — maybe years. You know sitting at a desk all day isn't helping your neck or your sleep. But the idea of walking into a studio full of flexible strangers feels like signing up for a performance you're not ready to give.
This is private yoga for people who:
- Have never tried yoga and don't want their first experience to be in front of a room full of people
- Tried a class once and felt lost, left behind, or like everyone else knew what they were doing
- Want the privacy of learning basics without worrying about how they look or whether they're "doing it right"
- Need movement paced to their body, their breathing, and their actual comfort level — not a playlist or a group sequence
Natalie works with complete beginners across Costa Mesa, Irvine, Newport Beach, and nearby Orange County. You don't need flexibility, prior experience, or a yoga mat. Just a willingness to move a little more carefully than you usually do.
What first sessions focus on
Beginner sessions are paced slowly and built for learning — not performance. Natalie guides you through foundational movement, breath, and body awareness that becomes the basis for everything else.
Foundational poses
You'll learn a handful of simple, sustainable shapes — standing poses for balance and grounding, gentle floor work for opening tight areas, and movements that support your joints rather than stress them. Nothing extreme. Nothing rushed.
Calming breath
Breath is where yoga starts to feel different from stretching. Natalie teaches you how to breathe in ways that signal safety to your nervous system — which is what makes the practice restorative instead of just another task.
Safe movement
You'll learn how to move with your body's current range — not someone else's idea of what a pose "should" look like. Every adjustment is offered, never forced. Every option is a real option.
A simple, memorable practice
By the end of your first session, you'll have a short sequence you can revisit on your own — something practical, not aspirational. The goal is a practice you'll actually use, not one you'll feel guilty about abandoning.
What we won't do
Private yoga for beginners is not about keeping up, getting Instagram-worthy flexibility, or fixing your life with movement. Here's what's not part of this approach:
- No keep-up pressure. Sessions move at the pace your body can absorb. There's no group to fall behind, no timer pushing you forward, no sense that you're slowing anyone down.
- No medical claims. Yoga is movement and breath support — not treatment, diagnosis, or physical therapy. If something hurts or feels unstable, we adjust or stop. You should always consult your healthcare provider when needed.
- No complicated day-one sequences. You're not going to leave the first session with an hour-long routine you'll never remember. You'll leave with 3–5 things you can actually do between sessions.
This is calm, intelligent guidance — not spiritual theater or fitness performance.
How to start
Many beginners start with a single $90 session. It's a low-pressure way to try private yoga, see how Natalie works, and get a sense of whether this kind of movement feels right for you.
If you're drawn to the Nervous System Reset (8 weeks, $595) — an 8-week program focused on sleep, stress, and downshifting — your first $90 session credits toward the full program if you begin within 14 days. It's a soft bridge, not a hard sell.
You can also explore Mobility for Longevity (6 weeks, $450), which focuses on joint health, functional movement, and sustainable daily habits. Full pricing and details are available on the pricing page.
Soft reminder: private yoga is not medical treatment. Please consult your healthcare provider before starting a new movement practice, especially if you have injuries or health conditions.
Beginner FAQ
Do I need a mat or any equipment?
No. Natalie can bring mats, blocks, straps, and bolsters if you don't have them. You don't need to buy anything before your first session.
What should I wear?
Comfortable, movable clothes — leggings, joggers, a t-shirt, or anything that lets you bend and stretch without restriction. Nothing special. No bare feet required if that feels awkward.
I'm really inflexible. Is that okay?
Yes. Sessions meet you where you are — tight hamstrings, stiff hips, shoulders that don't move much. That's normal, not a problem. Flexibility is a side effect of practice, not a prerequisite.
Where are you located?
Natalie teaches in-home private sessions across Costa Mesa, Irvine, Newport Beach, and nearby Orange County. Travel is included when practical.
