First session guide

What to expect in a private session

Knowing the flow reduces hesitation. Here's what happens before, during, and after your first private yoga session with Natalie.

No performance pressure. No complex routines. Just calm, personalized movement and breath guidance designed to meet you exactly where you are.

Simple. Calm. Personalized.

Private sessions across Costa Mesa, Irvine, Newport Beach, and nearby Orange County.

Before you book

Most people start with a short phone or text conversation. This is a fit check — not a sales call. Natalie asks what you're hoping to address (sleep, tension, mobility, general calm), what your schedule looks like, and whether private yoga seems like a good match for what you need.

If it feels right, you'll schedule your first session. If it doesn't, that's fine too — Natalie will point you toward what might work better.

You don't need yoga experience, flexibility, or special equipment. You don't need to "get in shape" before starting. You just need a clear space roughly the size of a yoga mat and 60 minutes without major interruptions.

Arrival

Natalie arrives on time at your home in Costa Mesa, Irvine, Newport Beach, or nearby Orange County. She brings mats, props, and everything needed for the session.

There's a brief conversation before you start — any injuries, areas of tension, what's been hard lately, how you've been sleeping. This isn't an intake form. It's just context so the session can be shaped around your actual body, not a generic sequence.

You'll set up in whatever space feels comfortable — living room, bedroom, patio. Quiet and private is ideal, but real homes have real life. Pets, kids, doorbells — it's all normal.

During the session (approximately 60 minutes)

Sessions are paced slowly. You'll move through a combination of breath work, gentle warm-up, foundational poses, and longer holds designed to signal safety to your nervous system — not exhaust you.

Natalie guides you through each shape with clear language. No Sanskrit unless it's helpful. No assumptions about what you already know. Every adjustment is offered, never forced. Every variation is a real option, not a fallback.

If something doesn't feel right — a joint protests, your breath gets shallow, or you just feel done — you say so. Sessions adapt in real time. There's no sequence that has to be completed. No performance you're expected to deliver.

The goal is not to impress anyone. The goal is to leave feeling a little less braced, a little more grounded, and with tools you can use again on your own.

After the session

Sessions typically end with a brief rest — either lying down or seated. A few minutes to let your system integrate. No rush. No immediate transition back into productivity.

Before Natalie leaves, you'll talk through what landed, what felt useful, and whether ongoing sessions make sense. If you're interested in continuing, you can discuss single sessions, the 8-week Nervous System Reset, or the 6-week Mobility for Longevity program. If you're not sure yet, that's fine too. Your first $90 session credits toward Reset if you start within 14 days.

Most people feel calmer, less tense, and clearer after their first session. Some feel tired in a good way. A few feel energized. Bodies respond differently, and that's normal. The work is cumulative — not performative.

You'll also receive simple follow-up guidance if it's relevant — a short breath practice, a stretch to revisit, or a reminder about pacing. Nothing overwhelming. Just practical tools that fit into real life.

Soft disclaimer

Private yoga is movement and breath support — not medical treatment, physical therapy, or a cure for anything. Natalie is not a healthcare provider. Sessions are designed to help you move more comfortably, breathe more calmly, and feel less chronically braced.

If you have injuries, chronic pain, or health conditions, please consult your healthcare provider before starting a new movement practice. If something feels wrong during a session, speak up. Pain is not part of the practice.

This is intelligent, careful guidance — not miracle work.

Common first-session questions

What should I wear?

Comfortable, movable clothes — leggings, joggers, a t-shirt, or anything that doesn't restrict bending and stretching. Nothing special required.

Do I need to eat beforehand?

A light snack an hour or two before is fine. Avoid heavy meals right before — you'll be more comfortable moving on a not-quite-full stomach.

Can I ask questions during the session?

Yes. If something is unclear, uncomfortable, or you're curious why you're doing a particular movement, just ask. Sessions are conversational, not scripted.

What if I need to stop or take a break?

You can pause anytime. Rest when you need to. Private sessions are not group classes — there's no pace you have to maintain.

How soon will I feel different?

Some people feel noticeably calmer or less tense after one session. For others, it takes a few sessions before the shift feels clear. Nervous-system work is cumulative, not instant.
